Link building for insurance keywords

You may already know how important link building is for online marketing – and SEO in particular. The more links you have to your site from authoritative sites, the more Google and other search engines will see your site as an authority in its own right.

Building links will happen naturally if you create high-quality content that people want to share. But what are some specific techniques that don’t involve writing content?

Video marketing

Many people prefer to access content in video format, and it is now easier to do than ever because you can create high-quality videos with nothing more than a smartphone.

But still many insurers and other companies fail to take advantage of video content. So when it comes to link building for insurance keywords, this is great for you because you will face less competition.

Start by creating a channel on YouTube and then create a weekly video. In your videos you could:

  • talk about important industry news;
  • provide insurance tips relating to your product;
  • interview industry experts;
  • discuss anything else that could be of interest to your targets.

Once you start creating videos in YouTube, embed them to your blog and on your website, as well as in your social media platforms.

As well as getting links from YouTube, you will also get links from other people who find your videos interesting because they will use your videos on their own sites and link back to your site.

Publish guest blogs

Guest blogging remains an excellent way to build links, so this is another tactic you may want to focus on.

Start by finding some top industry websites and blogs that accept guest blogs. The webmaster may want you to propose an idea, or they may prefer you to send a completed post. Follow their instructions, and make sure you read plenty of blogs on the site so you get a good feel for what the site wants.

When they publish your post, you can include a link back to your site. Over time, this can be an excellent way to build links, and you may even attract some targeted visitors who click directly on your links.

This is one thing we do here at Speedie Consultants to build links but also to reach new but relevant audiences.

Create infographics

Infographics became hugely popular in recent years, and they are still effective. The reason is that they provide a quick and engaging way to get access to content.

Get a professional designer to create your infographics to make them visually appealing. As for topics, you could use your existing content for inspiration, or you could carry out some research and present your findings in the infographic.

You can post it to your blog and your social media accounts, and actively encourage other people to post it on their own websites to generate links back to your site.

Make link building a regular activity

However you go about your link building, make sure you only build links from high-quality sites. The Google Penguin algorithm update in April 2012 meant that you can be punished for building lots of low-quality links. One link from an authoritative site is worth hundreds from low-quality sites.

So get your tactics in place, then make link building a constant activity and seek to build links slowly and over time rather than all at once.
