Local marketing ideas for insurance brokers

If you are looking for local business, then using online marketing to find these people is a great way to reach out and find them at a low cost that also provides a tangible return on investment.  Here are three ideas you can deploy right now to increase the amount of local business you can attract into your high street insurance business.

1. Google my business

If you have ever searched Google for something and added in a local term such as the town or county you are in, then you would have seen a Google map appear with local businesses highlighted on it.  In recent times this has been either three businesses or six businesses listed in it.  This is all managed via a Google product called Google my business (GMB).

If your business doesn’t appear on the map for relevant search terms for you, then you might find you don’t have a GMB account, or you have not claimed your business online.

Then fill in as much information as possible.  The more complete your GMB profile is, the better.  After you start to see your business appear on the map, you can tweak and expand your listing.  Add office photos, get customer reviews, link to your GMB account from your other activity.  All of this will help.

2. Facebook local business page

As well as Google, Facebook has a similar service where local businesses can add a company-specific page to Facebook. This will then allow you to reach out and engage with your local community.

3. Facebook advertising

The other advantage of Facebook that few local brokers use is the ability to pay for advertising on Facebook  – this can be highly targeted both demographically but, more importantly for you, geographically.  You can set your advertising to appear within say a 5 or 10-mile radius of your office.  This is a great way to get your company or offers in front of your target customers quickly and cheaply.

These ideas can help grow your local business activity.  It is not just about door drops, direct mail or advertising offline. Online can also be a great way to drive local business too.
