Managing your social media from your phone

One reason we hear for not carrying out sustained social media activity is a lack of time. With that said, the good news is that there are a number of tools available to help you manage this activity on the go.

WordPress

If your site is built using a content management system (CMS) such as WordPress, you will be able to login via your mobile phone and post blog updates. If your site is set up correctly using a plugin like SNAP (Social Networks Auto Poster), when you publish a post it can then auto publish to your social media accounts. This can save you a huge amount of time and effort and mean that your content gets off to a good start.

Sendible

If you are managing multiple pages across multiple accounts, we recommend a service such as Sendible. Sendible allows you to create content in its dashboard and then simply tick boxes to say when and where to share it.

It can also be set to repeat, so if you wanted to post an advertisement or link to a product page every week, you simply set and forget.

Sendible has both an iOS app and an Android app so you can easily manage this from your phone.

As well as making it easy to do the work and preload, it also has powerful reporting features to help you see what is working. You can also use it for brand monitoring so you can see who is saying what about your business. What is clever is that by using the Sendible sentiment tool, it can tell you which mentions you might need to look at or respond to.

LinkedIn

The main LinkedIn app is not very user friendly and we have found it quite complicated if you want to look at and post in groups or company pages. But it is useful to share a quick status update or manage your connections. There are also a number of other LinkedIn apps for writing content, working with Slideshare, and using it like a contact address book.

Facebook

With Facebook you can install all of the Facebook apps. You will need the Messenger app and Facebook pages app, in this way you can manage and respond to activity. Again there is very little automation provided out of the box., so you will not be able to run scheduled posting, auto responses etc… But it is always useful to have these on your phone just in case you need to respond to a customer or comment directly.

Summary

As you can see, there are a number of easy tools you can use to be able to manage your social media activity on the go. Sendible is by far the best for automation and preplanning as well as managing across platforms. The others are all good to have just in case.
